After graduating from Boston University in 1988, Bill started a successful career in banking at Citizens Bank as a Management Trainee. Bill was an Assistant Branch Manager in North Providence and later became a Branch Manager in his hometown of Westerly. He says of his time at Citizens, “I took great care in making certain that my customers received the very best service.” Deciding to expand his knowledge of the mortgage industry, Bill became a Senior Loan Officer at Advanced Financial Services, Inc. in Newport, where he originated loans in 22 states. Bill was promoted to Product Manager/Underwriter and for three years managed a staff of five people. In February 2000, Bill joined Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (RIHMFC). As Community Lending Manager, Bill oversaw five different homeowner loan programs including the Reverse Mortgage Program. At RIHMFC, Bill came to understand the power of reverse mortgages to help senior homeowners stay in their homes and improve their quality of life. With 16 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, Bill founded Ocean State Reverse Financing, Inc., fulfilling the lifelong dream of starting his own company – a company that combines his financial expertise with his passion for helping people.
